Social
Social – Employee Performance
We strongly believe that the success of the Group lies in the productivity and creativity of a motivated workforce. Hence, at all levels, we promote a safe and healthy work culture to foster the right work environment.
Our Group has implemented many programmes and activities and is registered under Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) compliance. SMETA is a compilation of best practices for ethical audits. SMETA audits use the ETI Base Code and are founded on the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), which is an internationally recognised code of labour practice. SMETA audits can be conducted against two or four auditing pillars; our Group is audited under the four auditing pillars. The two mandatory pillars of any SMETA audit are the Labour Standards and Health & Safety. We have added two additional pillars, the Environmental Assessment (extended) and Business Ethics to further strengthen our commitment to social responsibility
SMETA is one of the largest collaborative platforms in the world that helps its members gain access to information that promotes transparency in their business conduct. Our Group undergoes annual independent audits, assuring stakeholders of our commitment towards Labour and Human Rights.

The SMETA audit in respect of Labour Standards requires compliance with local laws, the Employment Act 1955, Employee Provident Fund, Social Security, and other legal requirements relating to human rights.
